A peek inside
This Shabbat we read parashat Lech Lecha, the weekly Torah portion (Genesis 12 to 17). God tells Abram, "Go from your land, from your birthplace and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you" (Genesis 12:1). He doesn't say where. Abram is 75 years old, and he goes.
Question 1: God told Abram to go "to the land that I will show you" (Genesis 12:1), without telling him where. Would you start a trip if you didn't know where it ends? What makes it easier to take a first step when you can't see the whole road?
